JM Updates...

You know me, you know I enjoy his music.

Here are some cool things he posted on his blog. I can't wait for the new album.

Here is how he is going to try and make a tour interactive and more about giving his fans what they want and about their experiences...pretty neat.

Rough cut of a new song on the new album...

(p.s. sorry I have been extremely busy. I'm sorry I haven't posted lately. But I will soon.)

Keep me...

...where the light is.

coming soon. :)

I will always love black and white photography. It just has a great definitive classic feel to it. Plus, a good amount of the time, people can look better in black and white photos.

Inside joke that should stay inside, yet, it's outside?!?!

Titled: Public Apology

Why oh why? haha. Ya know, I can't say much because I'm usually the one laughing at my own jokes, alone.

I am mostly posting this to say..."AMY! LOOK! We've seen that rock. We've stood next to that rock! We were sitting night one only a few rows up and over!"

A moment of silence that we are not there enjoying Red Rocks this tour. :(

Mayer & Folds...Folds & Mayer

Here are just a few pictures from the evening (June 8th, Mandalay Bay Event Center). I did not bring in my usual SLR, I just brought my Sony point and shoot. It was one of the best shows I've been to, and we all know that Lori has seen Mayer a few times. :)

I hope those of you that have yet to go, really enjoy it. It was great!

A little bit of Ben...

Aaaand some Mayer...

(and I will say, even though I may sound like a nerd...it was one of his best shows for lighting and just the stage set up)

So...this is a "funny" joke right?

Title: Shaving, 1999.

I mean, it's not really funny, but the fact that he thought it was funny at the time is what makes it funny.

I think I sometimes forget that guys can be dumb funny when they are just with other guys. I wish they would be willing to be that way sometimes for us. We can sometimes find it just as stupid funny as you do.

the guitar.

I can't remember a time when I didn't wish I knew how to play the guitar.

My dad plays. Some of my favorite memories growing up are sitting on my parents bed with my dad while he played his guitar. I would sit across from him reading the music book upside down so I could turn the pages at the right time while he strummed away. My dad's guitar was off limits, we were not allowed to touch it as kids. About four years ago I finally asked my dad if I could borrow his guitar to try and learn. He had actually purchased a second guitar and let me pratice on that one. (So I still haven't touched "the" guitar if you think about it...just kidding!)

I had the hardest time stretchy my stubby sausage fingers across the fret board to hit some of the most basic chords. I also had a hard time making and keeping calluses. Those were the main two reason why I stopped trying. I gave up. And though I still wish I knew how to play the guitar, my wimpy fingers are okay with playing the smooth ivory keys of a piano.

What brought on this memory, you ask?
A Mayer blog.

Calluses
February 23, 2007
I remember when I first started playing guitar, all the kids who played would compare calluses... You weren't much if you didn't have them, and the thicker the strings you used, the cooler you were. I never really stuck my head in the game all that much, though I was using pretty thick strings. I've taken it down a bit in my post-adolescent play-every-night situation... Lately I've been tearing my fingers up again because the crowds keep pushing me to play as hard as I possibly can. (Peer pressure...) I've been digging
Derek Trucks a lot lately and try to forget my guitar has frets, but once I get off stage - I remember again. With every painful keystroke I make...

'Bout time...but ironic.

I find it totally ironic that Mayer didn't get the cover of Rolling Stones that one time because of his current girlfriend...

(Thanks Kates, she informed me, I won't take credit)

heeeeeere's johnny!

Just a little bit of Johnny for ya. I took these pictures at the Tempe Music Festival in April '06. Very enjoyable. He was with JM3 during this concert.

I think if you know me, well enough, you know of my love for this guy. I am not a "oh he is so hot, I want his body!" type of fan. I am a "oh man that hook was so tight! DUDE! He can jam on his guitar!" type of fan. I think that is one of the reasons why I'm not very vocal about being a big fan. I think people automatically get the wrong impression why I enjoy him so much because (and yes I'm about to generalize) most girls like him for physical reason more often then not.

I also enjoy the fact that he can be a pretty funny guy. I wish that I had guy friends like him. Funny yet just enough cocky and sometimes enough of an idiot that you could never really be attracted to him, ya know what I mean? Plus...please, the hair. I have scissors if he needs to borrow them. HOLY COW! :)

I hope you enjoyed the short show. There will for sure be more in the future. That was just a teaser!
