Like when I was a kid...

I bought some cereal. I wasn't thinking about anything but that I wanted some sugary yummy Apple Jacks! :)

Well to my surprise, there is a TOY inside!! So toys are a lot more technical now. My toy involved electronics! We didn't get that kind of stuff as kids! Daaang!

Well this is what the front of the box showed.

Whaaat?! Dwight Howard? Wooooord!! He is going to count my steps! Sweeeet, right?! I was like a kid! I was excited for this stupid toy for no reason other than I was excited to buy a kid cereal that had a toy! How long has that been!!

So I open by box and plop! Out comes my toy! I didn't have to "work" for it! It was right on top! Now I'm crazy lucky! I open the little plastic wrap around it and whaaa?!

That isn't Dwight!

It's Toucan Sam and he is holding a basketball. As much as I enjoy Toucan...I was so bummed! I wanted it to be Dwight Howard on the cover of my free step counter! And then I thought, "Lori. Are you serious?" It's a toy that you probably won't really use, or forget about. But then again, I was as excited as a kid when I thought about getting the toy, why would it be any different in my disappointment.

I'm such a nerd sometimes...heck...all the time.

Sneak Peek - Jon & Lindsay's Wedding

I had the amazing pleasure to photography Jon & Lindsay's wedding this weekend. They are an amazing couple and their wedding party was so much fun! You can tell what awesome people they are as individuals and as a group of friends.

Congrats you two! Here is just a sneak peek...more to come soon.

Not to visit the past but...

and this too..

I randomly found this from another photographer's website...these guys, GB Photographers get to photography a TON of athletes! I'm so jealous! My secret (not really a secret) photographer's wish is to be a sports photographer. I love shooting amazing athletes in action.

Good Times...Good Friends. The gang.

So the lovely Natali brought together the "old gang". And though that could refer to our the fact that we are older now...we are going to actually reference it to the fact that this is the group of dear friends I hung out with back in the day in the Redrock Ward.

It was such a great time! Here are just some pictures.
If you can figure out what movie Andrea is holding in her hand (picture below), we are meant to be BFFs...when I was picking this picture I looked at it and automatically knew what movie it was. I thought it was proof of what a nerd I am. :) hahaha.

I loved Bethany laughing in this picture. It made me laugh because you can just tell she is cracking up!

This is Andrea's debut as a hand model. If you would like to book her for any hand modeling, please contact me! :P

We played a little: and the pictures of that are hilarious. I will post more later of that fun! :)

ESPYS

Sooo...I've watched the ESPYS here and there. I do love sports, but I usually have a hard time keeping interest in this award show, well lets be honest...not well played.

But whoa...talk about a hit out of the park, a perfect play, an amazing ally-op for some major superman dunking...dude. Nice place Justin. Nice play.

Oh...and this...

In short...basketball.

So I found a new thing I love about basketball...their shorts! :)

A while ago I was running off to the gym but was out of gym clothes. I borrowed by brother's basketball shorts randomly. And I just loved them!

Well I finally bought a pair of my own a week ago.

I basically come home from work and wear them the rest of the night. The place that I bought them from unfortunately did not have all the color combinations that I was hoping for...so I am sporting UCLA colors, though they are not officially UCLA basketball shorts. But it doesn't matter, because they are still very enjoyable, very non-girly, and very much going to become a staple in my comfy wear! :)

I wear them as I write this post. :) hahaha!

Picture of the Week

I am going to start a little something new. I want to stay on, if you will, my photography toes. So I have decided that once a week, I am going to post a picture that I deem "Picture of the Week"...I am keeping my self proclaimed rules pretty loose (haha), but I have decided that I am going to post once a week a picture that I am just loving. Whether it is from a photoshoot or a random picture I took on my iPhone.

Well this week is an iPhone picture. It has been crazy like weather around here with the hopeful threat of rain. Here and there it rained, since my car windows have proof with spots! As I was driving home on Summerlin Parkway, I saw the sun setting and the clouds spotted across the sky. I really enjoy the ride up Summerlin Parkway for that reason alone. So it's not necessarily about the technicality and greatness of the picture for me this week, mostly about what it represents for me.

So here is what I captured and though it has my spotty car window in the picture, I still enjoy the view I am lucky to see most days of the week on my way home from work.

Blogging has made me realize how often I seem to take pictures while I'm driving. I promise I am still a safe driver!! ;)

My (whole) Family

This is a monumental picture. We are NEVER all together at the same time in the same place.

This is my family...

I'll tell you who is who too!! :)
L to R front row: Lani (the oldest), Dad/Grandpa, Kealani [in Grandpa's lap], Mom/Grandma, Kaitlin [in Grandma's lap], ME (4th kid), Landa (2nd kid), Jordan (Landa & Thomas's lil girl).

L to R back row: Teri [Mommy to Kealani & Kaitlin aaand Nate too (haha)], Nate (3rd kid), Kyle (5th, the baby), Kristi (Kyle's wifey), Thomas and (Landa's husband).

I am really happy we have this picture...and really happy with our amazing photographer Becky Earl. My family and friends asked me why I didn't take the pictures and I say "beeecaaause it's juuust easier (dot. dot. dot.) I can't explain it unless you are a photographer." So ask any other photographer and they can tell you that in moments like these it is best to get another photographer to take the pictures.

Thank you so much Becky!

Crazy Ducks!

Sooo, I ran into some ducks this weekend. I took a few pictures of them while they honked at me. And since they are around people so much, we got pretty close. As you can see. :) Let me tell ya, they are pretty loud too.

This one, followed me around for a little while. I finally had to show him that I had no food. Just camera equipment.

Ohhh...a baby duck!
